All in all, a superb animated film, which isn't to be missed. I tend to worry about A Listers in animated films, but this, people, is a truly talented voice cast, who are truly excellent when they are given a good script, which was exactly what they got. The voice talents are superlative, here we have Val Kilmer, Ralph Fiennes, Jeff Goldblum, Michelle Pfeiffer, Sandra Bullock, Steve Martin and Martin Short voicing fairly complex and beautifully-drawn characters flawlessly. There is nothing wrong with the story at all, other that it is complicated, but it is a biblical story after all. "When You Believe" is a standout, as is the title song. The songs and music(by Hans Zimmer) are phenomenal. The basket is found by the Queen, and Moses is brought up as a brother to the heir of the throne, Ramses. A desperate mother places her son in a basket and lets the Hebrew god guide it along its way on the river. The animation is jaw-dropping, especially in The Plagues scene, which is still for me visually and musically one of the most haunting and evocative scenes in an animated film, and the part with the Red Sea splitting. Egypt, eons of years ago: Pharao Seti commands all male hebrew babies to be drowned. I could not fault this movie whatsoever, and I am shocked at the low rating. Reviewed by TheLittleSongbird 10 / 10 Superb! Unfortunately, Rameses II (Ralph Fiennes) now rules over the Hebrews with an iron fist, and it will take all of Moses' strength and God's miracles to change the world. After escaping from the city, Moses finds that he is called by God to lead his people out of Egypt as His messenger. As time passes, the two brothers are separated as Moses (Val Kilmer) discovers his true heritage as a Hebrew and defies the Egyptian way of life. Found by the Queen (Dame Helen Mirren), the baby is named Moses and brought up as a Prince of Egypt and a brother to the Pharaoh's son Rameses II. A desperate mother decides to let God guide her newborn son instead of execution. Centuries ago in Ancient Egypt, Pharaoh Seti (Sir Patrick Stewart) ordered all the male Hebrew babies to be executed.
